Overview
Shopify Fulfillment Orders is Shopify’s order fulfillment model that separates order management from fulfillment execution. Instead of working directly off the order, fulfillment is handled through dedicated fulfillment orders that represent what needs to be shipped, from where, and by whom.
This gives better control, clearer status tracking, and safer handoffs between Shopify, fulfillment partners, and third-party systems.
How It Works
Shopify orders will be split into Fulfillment Orders based on products (available locations), order routing rules, default locations
Logicbroker will pull in Fulfillment Orders for the fullfillment location(s) retailers have configured in Logicbroker
These will create purchase orders and be sent to supplier for fulfillment
Shopify Setup
Set up available inventory locations for all products
Define the default Location
Adjust Order routing rules but keep in mind some rules may interfere with the way fulfillment orders are created - we recommend the setup below
Logicbroker Setup
Reach out to support@logicbroker.com to have Shopify Fulfillment orders enabled
Under Connectors > Connections > Shopify, click View Location IDs and copy the location IDs you want Logicbroker to pull orders for and paste them under Orders > Location IDs for Fulfillment Orders
Save
Notes
-
We will now use the Shopify Fulfillment ID as the reference number in Logicbroker as orders will be created by fulfillment order. Since Shopify does not show their fulfillment ID in their portal, in Logicbroker > Orders > General Information, you will still be able to reference the
Shopify Order ID - in Shopify this is value at the end of the URL on the order
Shopify Order Name - in Shopify this is the value at the top of the order
Refunds/Cancelations - all canceled or refunded items will reflect back in the reteiler's Shopify as removed and refunded items for both partial and full refunds/cancels
