Optimizing New Document Email Notifications

Email notifications are a great way to monitor new documents including orders, shipments, returns, and invoices. With the improved notification format that is sent on an hourly basis, we wanted to provide some additional information to help optimize your experience. 

Document Types Impacted: Orders, Shipments, Invoices, Returns

 

Previous Way of Receiving Notifications

Users who have subscribed to email notifications for new documents may be used to receiving several emails throughout the day that looked similar to the email below.

With each new document notification received, users would manually click on the PO# at the top of the email to be directed to the Portal where action can be taken. This could be repeated numerous times throughout the day. Printing the notifications would also require some effort because each email would need to be printed individually. 

New Way of Receiving Notifications

With the new email notification, users will receive an email every hour with a summary of all the new orders, shipments, invoices, or returns depending on your subscription. An example of the new order summary is shown below.

As we can see from the image above, users are able to simply click on the link in the email and will be brought to a filtered view of the order management section in the Portal, showcasing all of the newly received orders.

From this view, users are able to take any immediate actions that are needed by clicking on the Actions button or review individual orders by clicking on View. Users are also able to take action in bulk by clicking the check box next to the appropriate line items. This may include exporting orders and downloading packing slips
